UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced plans to ban the sales of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030.

This is part of a plan called “green industrial revolution” aimed at generating as much as 250,000 jobs and fight climate change.

The government will however “allow the sale of hybrid cars and vans that can drive a significant distance with no carbon coming out of the tailpipe until 2035.”

It was also announced that “£500 million will be spent across the next four years on “the development and mass-scale production of electric vehicle batteries.”
