From today, people in the UK have started getting vaccinated against Covid-19 by the Pfizer vaccine.

Margaret Keenan, a 91-year-old woman, was the first person in the world to get the vaccine, making history.

Over 70 health centres around the UK have been equipped and prepared so that today they could start the vaccination of people aged over 80, as well as healthcare workers.

The Pfizer vaccine was approved last week, making it the first Covid-19 vaccine to be given the go-ahead to be distributed. Just one week later, batches of the vaccine have already been shipped from Brussels to England in containers with cold temperatures and started the vaccination process.
