Around two weeks ago the government vouchers started being delivered to homes all around the islands. Three weeks later and 240,000+ out of 440,000 have been delivered by Malta Post.
Last Friday, Economy Minister Silvio Schembri said that there was a limit to how many vouchers could be delivered daily by the Malta Post staff. And to this, a date when all the vouchers were to be delivered could not be said.
People are to receive five 20Euro vouchers. Four of which are red and can be spent in Restaurants and accommodations, and the remaining 20Euro voucher coloured blue can be spent in shops which had to close down in recent months because of Covid-19.
Silvio Schembri is also pushing businesses to register & create an account to be eligible to accept these vouchers. This can be done here. He also said that 4,000 out of 25,000 businesses have already registered to accept the vouchers. You can see all the outlets which are accepting the vouchers here.
Have you received the government vouchers yet? And where will you be using them?
