Police arrested two men who were allegedly involved in a robbery in less than 48 hours. The robbery took place on Wednesday morning in a gaming shop in Triq il-Wied, Birkirkara.

The employee, a 32-year-old man living in Attard explained to the police that he had just left the establishment with a bag of money and as soon as he was about to put the bag of money in the car, he stopped next to a motorcycle. At that moment, the motorcyclist pulled out a knife and stole the bag containing a considerable amount of cash, then proceeded to flee the scene.

Police from the Violent Crimes Squad within the Department of Criminal Investigations said that the suspects were cought and arrested after analysis of security camera footage and investigations were held.

They also revealed that the same employee was involved in the robbery, along with the other who is a 42-year-old man.

After multiple searches in garages and private residences of the 2 men. Police from the Criminal Investigations Department found the money hidden in parts of the motorcycle used in the robbery. They were arrested a few hours later.

The 42-year-old and 32-year-old men are expected to be taken to court under arrest on Saturday morning before Magistrate Doreen Clarke.
