Rapid Testing in Malta is to start in the coming days in two new COVID-19 testing centres which will focus mainly on rapid testing. One of the new testing centres will be at the Boffa hospital and another will be in the North of Malta.
The new rapid COVID tests will deliver the result in a matter of minutes, making the process much more efficient.
These new tests will be mainly used on healthcare workers, incoming airport passengers and people working with the elderly. However there are plans to enrol rapid testing in schools and other institutes in the near future.
Malta currently has 20,000 rapid testing kits. Another 50,000 are expected to arrive next week.
