In an interview with the Times of Malta, Superintendent for Public Health Professor Charmaine Gauci stated that Pregnant woman and young children will not get vaccinated for the time being.
This is because of lack of research done on the effects that the vaccine can have on pregnant woman and children.
Trials done on the vaccines so far have been focused on adults as they were mostly effected by the virus. Children didn’t often develop severe symptoms.
Prof. Gauci also stated in the interview that authorities are considering issuing a certificate of vaccination to people who get vaccinated.
