A light earthquake was felt in many parts of Malta on Wednesday shortly after 3am. The earthquake was mostly felt in the south of Malta. No damages were reported however many people reported on Facebook that they were woken up by the tremor.

Its centre spot was around 20Km south-west of Malta and measured between 4.3 and 4.5 on the Richter scale.

A few hours before, on 8.23pm on Tuesday, another lighter earthquake was reported by the University of Malta’s Seismic Monitoring and Research Group, with a magnitude of 3.3.
