A fierce fire broke in the Menqa area in Marsa which produced a big cloud of smoke visible from nearby villages.

Multiple fire engines went to the scene as the fire alarm was set off shortly after 7am this morning.

People have reported that the cause of the fire could have been a waste which caught fire and then spread to its surroundings.

Police also confirmed that no one was injured.
