The Pfizer vaccine is expected to be approved by the EU Regulators withing the next 18 days.

This statement was made by the Prime Minister after returning from the Brussels EU Summer which took place this week.

He stated that the fixed date is 29th December, after which, roll-outs of the vaccine with begin.

“Now we look forward to the 29th of December when authorisation gets approved for the COVID vaccine around Europe and that is when economic and social recuperation really begins”

Abela expressed his satisfaction for the process and said that it is important for normality to return to Malta.

The PM also said that climate change and the EU Budget were also discussed during the summit and Malta showed value within the EU. He also stated that the only disappointment in the summer was Brexit as it looks like negotiations between the EU and the UK are not going well and an agreement won’t be achieved by the end of the year.
