Authorities confirmed that a sample of frozen chicken wings imported from Brazil test positive for Covid-19 in Shenzhen, China.

The sample was taken from a batch of chicken wings during a screening of imported frozen food last Wednesday.

People who might have been in contact with the product have been traced and tested. All of which resulted negative for the virus. All the related products have also been sealed off and tested negative.

The name of the brand has not been announced. However, authorities have now started tracing products from the same brand which have been sold.

On the contrary, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said that the possibility of catching the virus through food is low. The organisation said that the virus is spread from person to person by respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks. This is why wearing a face-mask is a must in order to prevent the spread of the virus.

What do you think of this news? Should imported products also be of concern?
