The car which had been used in Sliema’s double homicide last week has been found by police in St Luke’s hospital parking lot.

The car, which is a Volkswagen Tiguan, had been stolen 2 years ago in Gzira. The original owner of the car was a victim of a house robbery, and the thieves most likely found the spare key of the car. The car was then stolen a few months after the house robbery.

The car was found with equipment which disrupts radio and mobile frequency as well as CCTV cameras. According to other sources, objects which were found in the car indicate that the murder was well planned and carried out by professionals, most probably from Eastern Europe.

The firearms used in the murder have not yet been found.
