According to police, at around 10pm yesterday, they were informed that a gun shot was fired in Triq iż-Żewġ Mini, Senglea.
Police officials and Rapid Intervention Unit arrived immediately on the scene where they started searching for the shooter. Shortly after police arrested a 29-year old man who allegedly fired at a woman.
After an investigation, police found out that an argument broke out between the man and a 32-year old woman which lead to the man trying to shoot the woman.
The victim managed to escape without being hit. The police found the man’s vehicle in the same road of the scene. In the vehicle they found the weapon which the man used to try and shoot the woman and also an iron truncheon, and a large amount of cash.
Police are still undergoing their investigation on the case and an inquiry was ordered by Duty Magistrate Dr Ian Farrugia.
