Two healthcare workers in the UK needed “immediate treatment” shortly after taking the Pfizer vaccine.
They suffered an ‘anaphylactoid reaction’ to the vaccine, which tends to involve a rash, shortness of breath, swelling of the face and tongue or a drop in blood pressure, according to the NHS.
It has also been reported that both healthcare workers are now ‘recovering well’.
The UK’s drug regulator has now advised anyone with a serious allergy to medicines or food to not get vaccinated.
British scientists are now calling for calm over the Pfizer vaccine after the news caused public panic in the UK.
